This
auction is for a 1957 Chevy pickup driven primarily to car shows and on
vintage car rallies. The vehicle has automatic transmission on the
floor and it's powered by a 1972 Corvette gear drive turbo 350 with a Holly highrise intake manifold and a new Edelbrock
4-barrel carburetor, and headers with 3-inch exhaust and glass packs. The
truck has a new battery. The
paint is metallic blue, kind of a mountain lake or sky blue color two years
old both interior and exterior. It is nearly flawless with three small
exceptions discussed in the "Vehicle Condition" section
below. When not in use the truck is always garaged. Chrome
is extensive on the vehicle including the front and rear bumpers, grill, dead
steps flanking each side of the cargo box, door panels, window channels, heater
box, fresh air vents, and numerous places in the engine compartment. The
vehicle starts from an ignition switch at the original position on the dash
but can easily be made to start from the tilt-wheel column. There are
left and right turn signals installed on the vehicle. The
interior is carpeted throughout in a tasteful gray to match the light gray
cloth seats. All the work was done by professionals. There's even
a lightly carpeted headliner with the Chevy logo. The seats are soft
and comfortable. There is some storage space behind the tilt forward
seats, but not much. Doors
have new hinges and new door locks for a real tight fit. There is a
radio with cassette and a frenched-in electronic
antenna (photo available) that operates from a switch on the dash. The
truck has a Camero front end clip and an 8"
Ford rear end with leaf springs and a traction bar. The truck has power
steering, but no power brakes-the brakes work great, and no air conditioning. Tires
are mounted on polished American Racing 5-spoke wheels and the two front
tires are new and the rear have half-life tread left. The new front
tires are Falken 205/60R51's
and the two rear tires are General XP200 255/60R15's. |
