Family Time

7 -15 April 2001

So it's no secret that I'm a sucker for family time.  I love getting together with family.  We're always pleased when Nana and Papa can fly out and spend some time with us.  (We're also greatful that all those years in the military conditioned the Kuhn clan to living in cramped quarters!  :-)  Attached are some highlights of the most recent Kuhn clan cross-country campaign.

(As always, I have the hi-res versions of these pics if someone wants a printer-friendly version)

Train Ride
8 April 2000
Kath found a great little railroad to visit.  It's tucked into the Santa Cruz mountains (and, ironically, is onyl about 300 yards from a bridge where I used to do some work for SonicForce!!)

Here they are, basking in the cool spring air...

All Aboard!

It was a really neat day.  We got out, Zoe loved the train (for the first ten minutes), and we really had a nice time of it.  Doug even dragged everyone to his favorite hamburger stand for lunch.  Of course he kept reminiscing about how he couldn't afford a hamburger back then, but that's another story.

Road Trip!!
9-10 April 2000
Nana and Papa got pretty brave this visit.  They decided that Zoe was up for a little dedicated inter-generational bonding, so they took her on a little trip.  They went to Monterey for an overnight visit to the Aquarium.  They packed up hte car with every imaginable Zoe-necessity.  They took blankets and binkies, jammies and juice, paperbacks and ... her potty?  Yep.  Seems the trip by car wasn't something to be braved without a quick means of relief (a wise choice, given that Zoe has only been potty trained for about 3 months).  Nana packed up the little potty and put it in the car.  Of course, Zoe has also decided she likes to read on the potty, so when she had to go...  Here she is, sitting on her potty in the front panssenger side of the rental car- reading the AAA Guidebook!!!  If you think I'm kidding about the reading, click on the picture.

She obviously had a great time though.  Check out the pictures below, with Zoe enjoying the aquarium as only a 2-year-old can-  with Grandparents!

Can I have some PRIVACY please!?!

Zoe zips to the Zoo
8 April 2000
And no visit with the grandparents is complete without a trip to the Zoe -- I mean Zoo.  In this case, it's Happy Hollow, Zoe's favorite Zoo.
