The upside of moving -but not moving -is that it forces you to complete a lot of outstanding projects that might otherwise take forever to get through. I have some pictures taken the day we went on tour, when hundreds of thousands of egar buyers came and inspected every minute detail of everything we'd done. (OK, at least half of that sentence is true.) We finished all the major work in a span of a few weeks. We farmed out the big work, and did the SLIP's (Shitty Little Projects) ourselves.
First we had new gutters installed. It was one of those projects
we should have done a long time ago. $900 well spent. Next
up, new carpet. That was more traumatic, since we changed our minds
before they even installed it. The hardest part of the carpet was
living with the house in total chaos for 3 days. (Under our old carpet
was a really gruncy adhesive from the old hardwood floor. Yuck.)
Finally, they painted inside and out. All up, well worth the effort.
