I just had my latest doctor's appointment and things are going perfectly.  Still no swelling from the heat/pregnancy, no sign of diabetes (my glucose tolerance test came back well below diabetes tolerance levels), and the baby's heartbeat is a healthy 150 bpm.

Of course, Zoe decided to show her feisty side once again (her first feisty spell being at the sonogram).  She had been kicking and squirming all morning long, which had worn me out.  As the doctor placed the sonometer on my belly to get an audible heartbeat, Zoe kicked 2 times and then rolled away.  What we heard was: baby heartbeat, BOOM, BOOM, then silence.  My doctor and I laughed out loud and she said, "You have yourself a real feisty one".  She tried again with the heartbeat monitor and got pretty much the same result (BOOM, BOOM, silence).  Even though she had enough to take an accurate measurement of the heartbeat, she tried one more time "to prove that I'm bigger than the baby is".

I now have check-ups every 2 weeks for the next month, and then I go to weekly appointments.  11 more weeks to go!
